How does a SeaSucker mountain bike carrier work?
A SeaSucker mountain bike carrier is very easy to assemble. You mount the MTB carrier on the roof. The cups do not need to fit 100% to the roof or the shape of the car. When the carrier is on the roof, you use the vacuum pump to create a vacuum between the cups and the surface of the car. When the cups are attached to the surface, place the front fork of the mountain bike in the bike carrier and secure the rear wheel in the separately supplied cup. Final check that everything is secure and you are ready to go!
Who uses the SeaSucker bike carriers?
Several organizations rely on the quality of the SeaSucker bike carriers. Team Jumbo-Visma uses the SeaSucker team rack, which can accommodate nine racing bikes. Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) also uses the team rack, as does Jumbo-Visma. These specially developed team racks are mounted with the same vacuum cups as the other SeaSucker carriers. Former pro riders Klaas Vantornout and Johan Museeuw are both proud users of the SeaSucker Talon for the rides they do out of passion for the sport. And several current pro riders such as Robert Gesink, Wout Poels and Xandro Meurisse also rely on SeaSucker roof racks.
Where do you put the front wheel?
The mountain bike is fixed to the bike carrier via the front fork of the bike. This requires the front wheel to be removed from the bicycle. But where do you leave the front wheel? SeaSucker has developed the SeaSucker Flight Deck for this purpose. This allows you to place the front wheel on the roof of the car. The rear wheel of the bicycle is mounted on the right side and there is room for the front wheel on the left side.
